Introduction: Neurodegenerative diseases (ND) are common and growing causes of mortality and morbidity worldwide, particularly in the elderly population. NP tend to compromise quality of life, as they affect physiological, social and emotional aspects, compromising the adaptation and interaction of the elderly in their usual environment, such as Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease. Objective: To assess the quality of life of individuals with neurodegenerative diseases. Methods: This is a descriptive and cross-sectional study, with a qualitative and quantitative approach, carried out with individuals who have a diagnosis of neurodegenerative disease and who live in the city of Lagarto. To assess quality of life, the 36-item Quality of Life Questionnaire (SF-36) was used. Results and Discussion: Eight participants were included, 4 males and 4 females, mean age of 65 years, family income of up to 1.25 MW and 4 had education up to lower elementary school. Within the results of quality of life, participants had worse results in the domains of functional capacity, limitation due to physical aspects, pain, general health, vitality and emotional health. The data corroborate some studies in the literature. Conclusion: Based on the results, it is suggested that individuals with ND are susceptible to a worse perception of quality of life.
