FRANTZ TUMOR: CLINICAL CASE REPORT IN A HOSPITAL IN NORTHWESTERN ESPÍRITO SANTO - BRASIL

Frantz's tumour is a rare tumour that affects mainly female adolescents and young adults, mainly of black ethnicity or descent. In general, this tumour presents as a large, asymptomatic abdominal mass, with the tail of the pancreas being the most common site and the head of this gland the least common. The treatment is radical resection, and it is recommended to extend the extirpation in the areas of metastasis, if present. Since this is an atypical situation in the practical clinical setting and the pathology is little known among health professionals, this case report becomes of great importance since it is a case that will possibly contribute to the consolidation of knowledge about this tumor. The case report aims to describe the main symptomatological findings, as well as the clinical evolution through the description of complementary exams of this patient with Frantz's tumor. This is an observational, documentary and descriptive study of a clinical case of Frantz's tumor, which underwent surgical treatment performed in the northwestern region of the State of Espírito Santo - Brazil.
