Abstract

Cancer is characterized by abnormal cell division, the most common type of neoplasm in the world and constituting a serious public health problem. In this context, squamous cell carcinoma is of significant importance because it represents most cases and has the potential for tissue and metastatic injury. Medical practice is rarely faced with a special form of this type of tumor: Marjolin's Ulcer. Objective: To aim at the clinic, treatment and inferior evolution after amputee patient with squamous cell cancer of residual scar origin a member of the thermal cell. This is a report of an individual of the sex that lasted for years, male case, at the age of 40, that is, of a crusted lesion that later became ulcerative over scar tissue from a left burn. Only after 12 years of evolution was the diagnosis concluded and treatment was instituted with transfemoral amputation in the left lower limb. Marjolin's ulcer, when treated properly and early, comprises a prognosis for patients affected by this clinical entity. An unfavorable outcome was evidenced, which was motivated by the delay in the diagnosis and treatment of the neoplasm.
