MANAGEMENT OF PREGNANT WOMEN IN PRIMARY CARE WITH SUSPECTED COVID-19: INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

INTRODUCTION: Among the numerous doubts about COVID-19, one that is of great importance refers to the recommendations of infection in pregnant women and the proper management of those who eventually develop the disease, since they are more susceptible due to the immunological and physiological changes that occur. during pregnancy. OBJECTIVE: To carry out a search in the databases in order to describe the management of pregnant women in primary care with suspected COVID-19. METHODS: This is an integrative literature review, carried out in PubMed, Google Scholar and Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) databases, with the following descriptors: pregnancy, prenatal care and coronavirus infections. Full articles in Portuguese and English were included, published from December 2019 to July 2021. RESULTS: 60 studies were found, after reading, analyzing and applying the inclusion criteria, the final sample consisted of 12 articles. The results of the studies in this research state that pregnant women should have supportive therapy, taking into account the moment they experience. CONCLUSION: From this research, it is possible to conclude that the complication and recovery rates in the infection by COVID-19 in pregnant and postpartum women have great similarity with non-pregnant patients. In this way, the approach to COVID-19 in pregnant women must include, in addition to general guidelines to minimize the spread of the virus, they must also include clarification about prenatal care and its continuation without the existence of relevant risks, giving women greater security regarding the period of pregnancy and puerperium.
