Abstract

The present study aims to conduct a brief review of the literature on the importance of respiratory physiotherapy and how its techniques can help in the rehabilitation of patients infected with Covid-19, through a literature review of articles published in the last two years in Portuguese that had their full texts available on the Search Platforms Scielo and Virtual Library in Health. The selection was made by crossing the descriptors: "Covid-19" and "Respiratory Physiotherapy" and the Boolean operator "AND". The inclusion criteria were: articles, including literature reviews, found in these platforms, containing texts with Portuguese-language versions, had been published in Brazil in the last two years, whose target population consisted of adults, and which corresponded to the objectives of the study. Seventy documents were selected and respiratory physiotherapy was identified as presenting beneficial effects for patients infected with COVID-19. According to the analysis of the articles, it is important to highlight the need for further longitudinal studies, which follow the long-term sequelae resulting from this pathology and intervention focusing on respiratory system dysfunctions.
