WEAKNESSES OF THE NURSING TEAM IN THE INTERVENTION OF PSYCHIATRIC CRISES: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

The need to expose the nursing team's insecurities in order to improve intervention during a psychiatric crisis in the care provided. Objective: To identify weaknesses and the need for care based on scientific and humanized techniques. Understand weaknesses and encourage continuing education. Methods: This is an integrative literature review that took place through the Virtual Health Library (VHL), resulting in publications indexed in the Nursing Database (BDENF), Spanish Bibliographic Index of Health Sciences (IBECS), Literature Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences (LILACS) and Online Medical Literature Search and Analysis System (MEDLINE). Results: From the analysis of the information, they were separated into five topics for discussion, namely: the conceptualization of mental health according to the WHO; how it was before and how mental health became after the psychiatric reform in Brazil; psychiatric crises and the different perspectives of authors and health professionals; the humanization of care and its importance for mental patients; the fragility exposed by health professionals in the management of psychiatric patients and their crises. Conclusion: Even after the Psychiatric Reform, nursing activities continue to be permeated by challenges. Intervention with training and continuing education is necessary for better coping with psychiatric patients and greater security and encouragement of professionals in the face of a crisis.
