Abstract

Objective: To describe the case report of agenesis of the callous body. Detailing of the case: This is an observational descriptive study, conducted through the clinical data of a pediatric patient affected by the agenesis of the callous body.  The child is currently 7 years old, but has been diagnosed with the disease since 8 months, through the correlation of the clinical diagnosis with imaging. She presented delayed neuropsychomotor development and cognitive deficit, difficulty eating and swallowing and communicating and socializing, in addition to learning problems, which are usual clinical manifestations of the disease. He has been treated with phenobarbital in an attempt to avoid seizures, as well as multiprofessional follow-up with a doctor, physiotherapist and speech therapist to improve muscle strength and coordination, in an attempt to improve his quality of life. Final considerations: The research emphasized the importance of becoming more evident the disease in question, in order to support the work of health professionals in front of it, through the elaboration of new studies with the objective of knowing better the pathology, helping in the prevention of risk factors and improving the quality of life of patients.
