THE ROLE OF NURSES IN NURSING MANAGEMENT: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

The nurse has the responsibility to be the professional responsible for organizing and evaluating nursing care services, is also responsible for making the connection between the multidisciplinary teams that accompany the patient. However, in order for the management and care processes to be carried out properly, the professional must be able to manage and coordinate the care provided to the patient. Objective: To identify in scientific evidence the role of nurses in nursing management in hospital services. Method: This is an integrative review study, carried out in the search bases of the Virtual Health Library (VHL). From the research, we selected 7 articles with full texts, in the Portuguese and published between the years 2017 and 2022. Results: The selected articles addressed nursing in management, being a competence of nurses in the management exercise. Conclusion: This study showed that nurses, in addition to being responsible for the role of nursing in management, need support in the construction of the management development of this professional.
