THE IMPORTANCE OF PERMANENT HOSPITAL EDUCATION IN THE PERIOD OF COVID-19

Abstract

The pandemic caused by the new Coronavirus (COVID-19) has become one of the greatest challenges of this century. Its historical and social impacts are still in progress, but its effects have affected both the health area and the economy of the world population. Emergencies in public health require quick actions, and constitute situations in which we must adapt our capacity to respond to unforeseen scenarios. Therefore, knowing and learning from the impacts of previous epidemics is the most effective way to improve the fight against their effects. Objective: To highlight the importance of continuing education in the hospital environment, highlighting the challenging period of COVID-19. Methodology: This study consists of a theoretical literature review, with descriptive purpose through documental, articles and bibliographic procedure, with contents collected from Scielo, LILACS, AND VHL databases between 2007 and 2021. using the descriptors COVID-19, PERMANENT EDUCATION AND HOSPITAL UNITS. Results:During the pandemic, it was possible to see that Continuing Education, in its role of promoting and inspiring the exchange of experiences, played a fundamental and unique role, providing professionals with the recognition of their limitations, the strengthening of their knowledge and the possibility of working together overcome limits and difficulties by developing your potential. Conclusion : It was observed that the role played by PE can promote, through teaching-learning, strategies for the offer of a care practice based on institutional processes, in a safe way for the patient.
