FACTORES ASOCIADOS CON LA OBESIDAD: UNA BREVE REVISIÓN NARRATIVA

Considerada un problema de salud pública, la obesidad es una patología comúnmente observada en todos los grupos de edad, sin distinguir género, posición social o clase económica. Los estudios indican una afinidad entre varios factores y el estilo de vida y sus correlaciones, produciendo un cuadro de sobrepeso, teniendo como producto final la adiposidad. Por lo tanto, el presente estudio tuvo como objetivo realizar una revisión bibliográfica narrativa que informara y actualizara los estudios recientes y más significativos sobre el tema. Los artículos nacionales e internacionales fueron seleccionados entre 2010 y 2020 en la Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), Portal Periódicos Capes, US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health Search database (PubMed) y Science Medline databases. La cantidad de esta revisión había señalado una correlación significativa entre los factores ambientales, conductuales, genéticos y fisiológicos como determinantes en el proceso de adquisición de la obesidad. A pesar de ser multifactorial las causas de la obesidad, el factor ambiental es visto como uno de los principales determinantes para el aumento de esta patología, en la forma en que estimula el consumo excesivo de calorías combinado con una disminución del gasto energético.
