Abstract

Popularly known as an avenue to entertainment, virtual reality (VR) has expanded its usefulness and functionality by seeking other avenues. The use of virtual reality is useful in treating exposure for people with panic disorder. In virtual environments, patients can witness specific situations, experience environmental and local differences, thus reaching situations like those in real life. The not-so-common union of Psychology and AI brings countless benefits and, even though they are such different disciplines, they are somehow interconnected. The aim of this study is to present the different uses that Virtual Reality offers, explain its current importance, and understand how AI can help in the treatment of diseases. Through the literature review, carried out in the following databases: SciELO, PubMed, PsycINFO and Science Direct, it is assumed that AI in Psychology is beneficial and productive and in a disciplinary integration with Neuroscience that studies the nervous system, we can improve the studies in that area.
