Abstract

The contemporaneity is increasingly being governed by the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4th RI) and its innovations and technological advances. These innovations are present in all business segments and in all its extension, in different ways, being in its products and services, in order to facilitate its actions, innovate, expand its range of opportunities and attract customers. However, despite these various opportunities, there are also several risks, as it was not only the facilities of producers, suppliers and users that expanded, but also hackers, cyberpirates, in addition to the difficulty of training the workforce to meet the demands of this new environment . Therefore, the focus of this research is to understand the darker and less explored side of the 4th RI, thus, its negative impacts, which have been causing abrupt changes in the operations of business environments. Through a literature review, based on an exploratory bibliographic research, articles and academic papers prepared from 2013 to the current year (Nov./2021), taking advantage of information from the following databases: Academic Google, Scopus and Web of Science, where the search terms used were related to "Fourth Industrial Revolution: its difficulties, its challenges and its negative impacts" and "Industry 4.0: its difficulties and its challenges" and their equivalents in English; aiming to understand these obstacles and how they are being contoured. The study identified the negative repercussions that the 4th RI brought, not only in the business environment, but also those that are directly reflected in society and how these are being overcome.
